Boum and Nunge Lead X Past West Virginia

Souley Boum and Jack Nungle led the way for Xavier as the Musketeers hung tough physically and mentally against West Virginia, knocking off the visiting Mountaineers, 84-74, in a BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle before a sold-out Cintas Center crowd of 10,460 on Saturday night. With the win, Xavier improves its record to 6-3 while the Mountaineers drop to 6-2. Boum was outstanding on this night, leading all scorers with a game-high 23 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field, 2-of-3 from behind the arc, and 11-of-14 from the free throw line. Boum also dished seven assists in the winning effort. 7-0 senior Jack Nunge added a double-double effort of 17 points and hauled in 14 rebounds while making his presence felt on the interior all game against WVU.   Continue reading...

Lady Musketeers Fall at Home to Seton Hall
Xavier dropped a 74-55 BIG EAST matchup vs Seton Hall on Friday night at Cintas Center. The Musketeers moved to 6-2 (0-2 BIG EAST), while the Pirates improved to 5-3 (1-0 BIG EAST). Kaysia Woods led Xavier with 13 points behind four 3-pointers. She added four rebounds, one steal and one assist. Taylor Smith added 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Courtney Prenger chipped in 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting to go along with three rebounds. The Musketeers continue BIG EAST play on Friday, Dec. 2 vs Seton Hall. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. from Cintas Center.

XU Women Complete Sweep of Butler
Five Musketeers scored in double figures on Sunday night as Xavier topped Butler, 73-54, at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Musketeers (9-17, 4-13 BIG EAST) swept the season series vs the Bulldogs (1-23, 0-15 BIG EAST) as Xavier earned its first season sweep of a conference foe since 2018-19 (beat Seton Hall twice).
